Landlords’ contents insurance

If you furnish your rented property, it’s worth considering landlords’ contents insurance. It covers damage or theft of furniture, kitchen equipment, beds, lights and other insured items you’ve left with tenants.

Contents sense

The risk of theft or damage to your possessions may be higher when you rent out a furnished property.  Tenants might be less inclined to look after items which they do not own – but to a landlord, forking out for new furnishings every couple of years doesn’t make good business sense. We can help you find the right protection for your belongings and furniture. Both in your property and the garden, with simple contents cover for residential landlords. Landlords’ contents insurance can protect your contents from risks such as storm, flood, fire or theft.

Landlord contents insurance comes as standard with all our insurers. It covers damage to fixtures and fittings that aren’t part of the building – such as free-standing ovens, fridges and microwaves, as well as beds, sofas and garden furniture. You can also add accidental damage insurance which would cover spills on the carpet or marks on furniture that sometimes fall outside standard contents insurance.
